Guaranteed quality through the RAL quality mark
The RAL Quality Assurance Association for the Recycling of Refrigeration Appliances certifies that no climate-damaging gases are released during the recycling of refrigeration appliances and that the recyclable materials contained in the old appliance are optimally utilised.
RAL Quality Marks are quality seals that confirm objectively selected characteristics of a product or service. Across Europe, they stand for defined quality criteria, consumer protection, and objectively reproducible quality.
SDK is a member of the RAL Quality Committee “Recycling of Cooling Appliances.”
RAL Quality Marks certify specific properties of a product or service in a neutral manner. Throughout Europe, they guarantee defined quality standards, consumer protection, and objectively reproducible quality.
The RAL Quality Mark “Recycling of Cooling Appliances” is based on a 20-page catalogue that defines minimum environmental standards for the recycling of cooling devices.
The primary objective of cooling appliance recycling according to RAL quality standards is not only to systematically identify and safely dispose of climate-damaging gases, mercury switches, and capacitors, but also to subject as many other components as possible to comprehensive material recycling.
In order to ensure that no CFC is left in the shredded polyurethane foam powder, the CFC concentration is measured on a continuous basis by a special measuring technique.
Since 1999, the SDK has been a member of the RAL Quality Assurance Association for the Demanufacture of Refrigeration Equipment. The Association was created to guarantee quality in the fridge recycling process and to ensure compliance with the existing environmental standards. With more than 20 members throughout Europe, the RAL Quality Assurance Association makes sure that old fridges and freezers are recycled in an environmentally acceptable way.

REDcert
The collection of used cooking oils and fats by SDK, as well as their conversion into high-quality biodiesel by SDK’s partners, is certified under the REDcert system recognized by the European Commission.
The REDcert-EU system is one of the leading certification systems for sustainable biomass, biofuels, liquid biofuels, and biomass fuels, and can be used globally. The REDcert-EU system is applicable at all stages of the supply chain – from the production and collection of raw materials, through processing in oil mills, to the manufacture of biofuels and bio-combustibles.
