Training courses
In the context of environmental and climate protection and the circular economy, participants acquire the necessary skills to make an important contribution to national waste and resource management through their work at the Resource Centre. The basic training programme comprises 100 hours in the period from January to July and covers the following topics :
– National waste management,*
– Rights and duties for resource centres,*
– General occupational safety and safe handling of hazardous products*
– and communication.
At the end of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised certificate after passing a written examination in the 3 main areas*.
Further information on the content and registration formalities can be found on the website of the institution organising the course on behalf of the Environmental Administration: CNFPC Ettelbruck
It is extremely important for labour, transport and quality safety that only trained employees handle hazardous and problematic products at the SuperDrecksKëscht® collection points. In particular, employees who have little or no experience in handling these waste fractions have the opportunity to gain initial basic knowledge or refresh their existing knowledge in the following areas with the basic training on product recognition and categorisation:
– General occupational safety,
– Working documents for SDK fir Bierger receiving centres,
– Product recognition and categorisation with practical sorting exercises.
This basic training course is offered once every six months and lasts 2 days. Participants receive a certificate of attendance afterwards.
The categorisation of waste according to its hazardousness is a central element of waste management. Among other things, it has an impact on the transport, verification and treatment of waste. As part of the SDK fir Bierger collection, it is particularly important that the employees at the SDK collection points in the Resource Centres are able to identify hazardous and problematic products, classify them safely and pack them securely for transport. To this end, update training courses on the safe handling of hazardous products are held in the last quarter of each year in order to comply with the applicable safety regulations, such as ADR legislation*.
11 optional update training sessions of 3 hours each are offered annually:
– 8 training courses for RC personnel without specialist training
– 3 training courses for RC personnel with specialist training.
The training dates are communicated to the resource centres annually in July before the major holidays.
*Transport of dangerous goods via the road network.
The handling of hazardous products in waste and resource management is a complex process that sometimes requires specialised chemical and process engineering knowledge. For this reason, SDK collection points in the Resource Centres receive expert support from the SuperDrecksKëscht® advisory service. As an additional offer, we provide ambitious RC employees with specialist training that enables participants to help colleagues with more complex issues relating to the collection, categorisation and packaging of hazardous products as part of the SDK collection.
The specialised training takes place every year from September to November and comprises 3 modules with a total of 42 hours:
– Introduction to waste management, occupational safety and ADR law
– Chemistry, products and hazardous reactions
– Hazardous products and resources in the context of the SDK and the Resource Centre.
The invitation to the annual SDK specialist training is sent to all resource centres by e-mail in good time. All participants receive an SDK training certificate after passing the written examination in all 3 modules.
