Sustainable consumption forms one dimension of consumer protection: safe products, fair prices and comprehensible product information and labelling are important for consumers. In addition, consumption also has an impact on workers’ rights and social and environmental standards, not only in our country but also in the countries of production. Consumers must therefore be able to become aware of the consequences of their consumption and find alternatives on the market. Only then will they have the opportunity to critically evaluate and change their consumption behaviour.
The SDK and the Luxembourg Consumer Protection ULC have therefore been working closely together for over 20 years and regularly exchange information.
